Where I learned web development in 4 months
Their website: https://www.devacademy.co.nz/ Really awesome culture and inspiring missions. They said they started the school so that people can do what they love while getting paid well. I learned as much about web development as I learned about working in a team and being a more empathetic person. This sounds a bit cringy I know, but it is true. The first two months are remote online learning, mostly studying javascript basics. The last two months are on site, where you pair with classmates to work on challenges each day, and do group projects where you build a website together in a day or two. I learned about using Express, Knex, React, Redux, setting up API and testing. It is not enough of course, but it put me in a really good place to start my further learning.
For our final group project, I worked in a team of five and we built an app that generates Spotify playlist based on gigs you wanna check out in a city. I was done in a week and I’m very proud of it. app on heroku Github repo
